Packaging for wedding photo

A deep love of the earth leads us to reflect on the primordial heart of this raw material. Everything is bom from the earth (Mother Earth), everything returns to the earth.

Concept and function

Made for Gicléeart.it by Artifact-studio.it

“Looking after the earth!”.
Our object aims to physically project this concept.
An object that carries a message for contemporary man.
An object with a primary pedagogical function. An invitation to reflect on soil as a material and as a place of human living, an object to meditate, contemplate and manipulate.
Part of looking after the earth also means reducing greedy consumerism and so our object invites users to change their consumer ways.
A sort of memory box, a container for non precious objects that are precious because of their historic and emotional value.
Symbolically we could say that ours is an invitation to bury in order to preserve, as our ancestors did, and this is in fact the object’s secondary function.

Ecological Factors

Given the conceptual, functional and noble nature of the material we are studying we wanted to create a object that was 100% environmentally sustainable. We aimed to take full advantage of the naturalistic aspect of the material thus guaranteeing complete environmental sustainability during the three phases of planning, production and disposal.

Form

“The shape is a pretext!”
Earth itself does not have a form and we didn’t want to shape it according to conventional volumes.
We chose to act on the principle of “non-form”, or to better explain the “un-defined”. The morphological reference we chose was a clod of earth or soil, shapeless and random and this was the formal path we followed to give the object an aesthetic definition.
An object that takes on an infinite array of forms, dug from profound fractures that magnify its spatial expression.
